Kimora Lee Simmons Values

There are positive and a negative towards Kimora Lee Simmons. First off she is the owner of KLS Collections, Baby Phat, and now the new and improved Phat Farm whom her ex husband Russell Simmons gave to her. Kimora's brands came along way and on top of that she is a mother of two girls Ayoki Lee and Ming Lee Simmons. Kimora sets a new direction of fashion because not only she is the owner of these wonderful brands, but she is a former fashion model along with Tyra Banks. Kimora knows what she wants and how she wants it because with a dynamic team Kimora runs the show.
The positive side of Kimora Lee Simmons brands is she brings new and exciting ready to wear clothing to the world for women, men, and children. Kimora has different variety of style and flavor to her clothing. She is a tough woman who is very demanding, but sometimes you have to be that way in order to get things done. Kimora has a few fashion shows happening once a year for the adult line and the children line. She brings lots of positivity to her life as far as being a mother and a mobile.
The negative side, which is not much to say because just by who she is. Many people think that Kimora Lee Simmons is a woman who do not care about people around her or just by being bossy. Being a woman in charge of a business you have to be demanding or else people will run over you. Kimora quote, "If you want to quit then quit or else you will be a quitter." Kimora said this to one of her co workers who cried because he could not take the stress. Some people would not wear her clothes because of her reputation and some wear the clothing anyways because of the style.
The positive and the negative of Kimora Lee Simmons does not hurt the brand value. Kimora is going to be Kimora regardless because she is doing her thing and people still love her collections. If you get the business going like she is doing with demands then you will get the job done and that goes for designing clothes or fashion shows. The value of her brand is helping, but not hurting.

Superbowl ads and the media in planning

The talking baby and Justin Timberlake were the favorite commercials to watch in the Super Bowl ads. The most mentioned of the day after the game were Anheuser-Busch, Audi and GoDaddy. http://adage.com/superbowl08/ Media planning helps determine which media to use whether it be on television programs, newspapers, bus-stop posters, in-store displays, banner ads, on the Web, or a flyer on Facebook. It also tells when and where to use media in order to reach their desired target audience. The Superbowl 2008 ads try to reach men that obviously loves cars and women, so the media would put women in ads to give it a sense of humor. Also men love food, so Frito Lay received about 1,000 homemade commercials for its Doritos brand from wannabes hoping to get their ad into the Super Bowl game. The ad made it through. According to Hairong Li from Michigan State University, "Advertisers run commercials during the Super Bowl game at more than $2.5 million dollars per thirty second spot, for example, media planners are involved in the negotiation and placement." http://www.admedia.org/ This is how important Superbowl Sunday are to people and for the media to make people happy of what they want to see. Superbowl Sunday should be a holiday.

Learning from Obama's Campaign in Advertising

First off we have a black man with a weird name who has two opponents whom are first a woman who is considered to be one of the first woman in the world (Hilary Clinton) and another opponent whom is considered to be a hero with a record shown that John McCain has been fighting for this country ever since. Despite out of all of them their was no stopping Barack Obama because he had a vision. He had change. If you keep repeating change in your speech people will eventually believe it just like if you repeat something in someones head saying "you are beautiful", then that person will eventually hear it over and over again. That is what Obama did, but in a good way. He used a slogan, "yes we can" of a change and that is what people believed that Obama will make that change. Obama puts away the negative and in with the positive to what people want to hear instead of talking bad about his opponent wasting time. Time is precious and something you should not waste. It is just like saying better can never work in advertising, but instead people want something different. This is the only thing that works in advertising and that is being different. People don't want the same thing over and over they want to try new things. Also people want a change now and the economy is getting too rough. Message Appeals of two ads

There are two ads that are presented which are Career Builder and St. Jude Children's Hospital. Career Builder is based on a humor appeal and St. Jude Children's hospital represents guilt appeal.
Career builder ad is very unique because it shows monkeys as people not doing what they are suppose to do, so they were goofing around and joking as if there is no work to be done. At the end it asks you a question, "Do you want another job?" Then it tells you to go to Career Builder.com. The commercial is addressing that if you are going to work with a group of people that do not take anything seriously then you need another job and Career Builder is the website to go to for job seeking. I like this ad because it shows a funny sense of humor of saying why a person needs a new job and he or she knows they do not like that job because of your co-workers etc. The way I dislike this ad is because that is all they had which were monkeys. If they would have something else such as the monkeys turning into humans to give it an idea of what they are trying to get across.
St. Jude Children's Hospital is a simple ad because it starts off with imagining life without children which is depressing. There would be no playing around nor someone calling you mom or dad at night wanting juice. St. Jude Children's Hospital is about children with any type of sickness such as cancer. At the end of the commercial it asks for people's help if you go to the website or just simply call. I like this commercial because it tells people that you should help out for sick children or you will regret it if you find out that he or she dies. This ad opens people's eyes and hearts. I dislike this ad because it does not have a repetition of a phone number or the website through out the commercial. I feel that if you are going to do an ad or commercial, you should have something on the bottom suggesting ways to call or to visit the website, so that people will have that number or website to stick with them at all times. It will get them thinking about that child in the hospital.

A Creative Brief of the Bratz Princess Commercial

The creativeness of Bratz is that whomever created these dolls have made a new direction as far as changing the way dolls look, its fashion sense, and advertising it well enough for young children ages eight through twelve (which are our tweens) to change their way of thinking about dolls. The commercial was at a dance studio starting off with real tween girls dancing pretending to be Bratz dolls. The Bratz dolls was suddenly introduced and shows the uniqueness of them being fashionable. The purpose is to get the young girls what they want, which most girls want to look stylish at school or wherever to make a purpose and that is to be known for her looks.

Having a doll that is like a barbie can also look like you or what the girls would want to wear in their everyday life whether at school etc. Since Bratz dolls have a sense of fashion unlike barbies and it tells young tweens that instead of a boring barbie we have stylish dolls that are bigger and better. Younger girls and tweens are into fashion now and Bratz effects how girls dress and their way of fashion. The only thing they need to do is to stay consistent with advertising because you do not see it as often like you use to every ten minutes, but maybe on networks such as Nickelodeon. The Bratz princess dolls took over the barbie world selling twice times more. By believing that Bratz are selling is because in every toy store usually they are almost clearing the racks especially for Christmas.

What I think the project was is to change a new way of thinking about dolls and how girls want or suppose to look. The objective was to achieve a doll that every girl wants, which is a fashionable doll. The position is to make it the the same as a barbie, but different features. Being creative and knowing what young girls want can make a difference because barbies been around for quite sometime now and Bratz is like a new and improved barbie. Sometimes Bratz already comes with extra clothing or a small dog to make it look glamorous like you want to be part of Bratz. They are at a reasonable price and you can get the dolls at any toy store.

Billboard: OBAMA-BIDEN "The new direction for life"

This billboard is representing the new upcoming president soon to be. I like this billboard because it represents a new change or a new beginning of life. This billboard also lets people know that Obama is the new direction for life because whatever he has been telling the world is what he will do. Obama's people or the democratics believe that Obama will make a change and will step forth to the plate and make a difference. Having a soon to come president who believes in a new direction and cleaning things up in the world, is a great turn around. Basically, the billboard states to vote for Barac Obama for president because he is the one that can bring that change to our country.
By Obama being African American is definitely a new direction or change in America. Being African American is not easy for most folks. It is now hard to believe that even the KKK is voting for Obama, which was shown through emails people send. When I think of direction I think of finding a way towards my future or taking that left or right turn while I am driving that will help me get towards my destiny quicker, but easier. That is what Barac Obama is telling the world the decisions you make dictates the life we lead. Realizing that your life is and could be in Obama's hands besides God's, which Obama will give you a new direction in life if you choose him.

Flat Earth Positioning

Flat Earth is a unique product because who would have ever thought of putting veggie chips together. On there website they have games, a store location where you would be able to find out where Flat Earth chips are. They make sure that you are satisfied with their product and to make things interesting for you to look at on there website.
This product's position is a great way to get people to try new and exciting food. They also have different taste such as apple cinnamon, tangy tomato ranch, and wild berry patch. Flat Earth is trying to get people to say that their product is more healthier than Lays potato chips or Doritos. Flat Earth is for the nutrition and healthier taste. They are also putting their product in grocery stores and even the famous Wal Mart. I definitely agree with their position because it gives a positive point, which they are saying you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
If I could change this product I would change the name of it first off because Flat Earth seems boring to me and maybe everyone else. Flat Earth reminds me of a farm or something that has to deal with something scientific. Also how it first came about because their is nothing on there that says where this product came from or originated.
The commercial was very interesting because it gave a twist to it as the pig being the angel from the sky and the pig is pointing to the woman with his nose the bag of Flat Earth chips. Of course the woman eats them and the pig leaves by flying back up to the sky. I like this commercial by giving a signal if you do not eat pork then try Flat Earth made with real veggies.
If this brand was positioned to younger women, I think that the people making this product would definitely sell it in colleges and have commercials with younger women eating these chip. Flat Earth would bring a natural look to it by if you eat these chips then you will be healthier and look like this maybe. The company overall did a great job promoting except with more commercials because I never heard of it until now.

The good and the ugly in Advertising

There are plenty of advertisments that really do some bad on television today, but not only on television whether its on billboards or in stores. Some advertising try to lure people into their store to make them want to buy their product. Others just turn their cheeks when they would see something and don't recommend whatever he or she sees. Here are some examples as we go down to the world of advertising.

On television, you have a lot of sex in commercials trying to get across with their brand such as Ambercrombie and Fitch which shows a man and a woman who is half naked on the beach about to make love. What was the purpose for a couple about to make love; It defeats the purpose of the brand. Mariah Carey who is naked trying to sell her perfume. Their has got to be another way to sell. We do have some men who loves to see that and is getting beat up by their wives (just saying). An example of a good advertisment would be a while back Gap showing everybody from children to adults how babies are sitting on the floor playing with toys in their new outfits. Basically a variety of people. Another would be the different networks of the phones such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and Suncom were together, but T mobile is telling everybody that their network is good as far as service and they have better deals with good connections. Showing good advertising will draw consumers to that company's attention.
Billboards usually give great quotes such as "A mind is a terrible thing to waste, What you see is what you get, or Vote." The Vote advertising is very popular right now because of the election. Especially the Obama campaign really making a move onto getting where he needs to be. Some billboards may be disturbing such as women showing off their bodies meaning their either advertising for their strip club or to be a call girl.

Retail stores also do advertising in their store or outside. The marketing will definitely get people into buying their product or merchandise. This will hurt people who are addicted to shopping. There are people in this world that they just got to have without even thinking about the price when he or she cannot afford it. There are signs like "Buy one pant get second half off, Bogo on shoes", or everyone's favorite "The real sale", when everything is on sale no matter what. Sometimes these could be good signs or bad it just depends on if you know how to handle advertising. Advertising can be too much but, it can also help people think about life and how it works.

WAL MART'S IDENTITY

What is the first thing that comes in your mind when you think of Wal Mart? The first thing that pops in my mind when I think of Wal Mart is low prices and what everybody calls it Wally World. The first thing that pops in my mother's mind is Black Friday when hundreds of people rush into Wal Mart four in the morning just to shop for Christmas for those forty dollar DVD's etc.
Everyone loves Wal Mart because you can find anything you want and need for an example electronics, food, and toys for your kids to enjoy. Wal Mart is designed for very low prices and what people can afford. Wal Mart is everywhere across the world and is one of the top retail stores in the country. It is also a family oriented store for many occassions such as birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, and simple things like cookouts for the Fourth of July. I think that Wal Mart would want people to know that they are very convienient and you can always count on them as far as low prices. They are open twenty four seven which, means if you have an emergency at three o clock in the morning they will be open. So when you think of Wal Mart, think of the greatest place to be like Disney World because it will bring pleasure and joy to your life.
The brand signifies growth and it is designed to compliment other businesses in an area with all brick exterior. Wal Mart represents the epitome of American entrepreneurial spirit. It also signifies the beauty of American including the color and its looks.(Redorbit.com)

J. Walter Thompson- is one of the top advertising in the world. They focus on what people want and ideas that people spend time doing. They are very creative and engaged into advertising. They have done Johnson & Johnson which is everybodies favorite because of the babies or people want their babies in that commerical. Kellogg's are most people favorite cereal. Also Nestle everyone loves chocolate. Nestle is my favorite to watch on the website because J. Walter Thompson Ads focused on Kit Kat bar with elegant people enjoying the taste of the Kit Kat bar. Most people especially the women in the commercial look like they would watch out for their figure but, the nestle Kit Kat bar changed their minds.

BBDO Worldwide- is an agency that focus on razors for men which, seems cool because it shows how men face's look after the shave. The commercials makes good sense. Gillette is a popular shaving cream and razors which, is suppose to make a man's face feel smooth without razor bumps etc. I like the website because it demonstrates how a man will feel afterwards. First off of how the man puts on the shaving cream and starts shaving step by step. Wonderful advertising to sell the product and of course Gillette is the best worldwide.

Grey Worldwide- this agency focuses on the encouraging part of life such as the ad for Coca Cola Zero. A guy walks in a store and finds his ex with her boyfriend but, he has no one. The guy drinks the cola and magically a gorgeous woman walks in and pretends to be his woman and they fly up in a helicopter. This ad/commercial is really humerous. Also this baby talks about E-trade and the baby is talking like an adult which, is very funny. Grey Advertising brings the humor in ads/commercials so, that people can see the funny side of things instead of the conservative way of things.
